First time parents with a 4 month old living in Hackney, looking for an experienced nanny/housekeeper with a focus on housekeeping duties. This role is more housekeeper/nanny rather than nanny/housekeeper in the sense that the job would be 75% housekeeping with 25% childcare. Ideal hours would be Monday to Thursday from around 9am - 5/6 but there is some flexibility on hours for the right candidate. It is essential that a candidate has experience in both childcare and housekeeping.
This is a shared care role, with both parents currently working from home. Baby is in a good routine, has had a maternity nurse and is pretty much sleeping through the night. Over time, it could be that you take on more nursery duties but the job would start as a predominantly housekeeping role to get the house in order.
Housekeeping duties include cooking dinner for the family, daily tidying, looking after the laundry, the kitchen and organising the house. The family currently has a cleaner but she is soon leaving - so you would need to take over from her. The house is 4 bedrooms and if you have experience in taking care of an extensive wardrobe this would be very beneficial. Candidate must be a confident cook who can prepare healthy meals.
Ideally you would be happy to muck in wherever you are needed - a weekly house clean - ordering weekly shop, maintaining kitchen and bathroom in order. You will also be responsible for receiving deliveries, running errands, changing lightbulbs and other general household management.
It would be fantastic if you would be happy to sometimes offer some babysitting in the evenings from time to time - but this is not a deal breaker.
Family is looking for somebody kind, hardworking who can work well to their own initiative in keeping the house tidy and organised.
Salary would be around £15/hour net depending on experience and the start date is flexible for the right candidate although family would like to appoint somebody asap.
